Long time ALS Network Supporter Tom Horton raises over $177,000 by Paddling to Cure ALS
We are incredibly grateful to Tom Horton for taking on his 18th Catalina Classic Paddleboard Race to Cure ALS! Tom and his son, Cole, paddled 32 miles from Catalina Island to the pier of Manhattan Beach in honor of those affected by ALS.
For over a decade, Tom Horton and his loved ones have raised awareness and funds for the ALS community and in memory of Tom’s mother, Anastasia “Peacha” Horton, who lost her battle with ALS in 2005. This year, he also paddled in support of his friend, Greg Browning, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2023. As a long-time supporter of the ALS Network’s mission priorities, Tom has cumulatively raised over $177,000 out of his $200,000 goal!
“My family invites you to contribute to Greg and The ALS Network,” Horton shared via his Instagram (@TomH59). “ALS impacts the ability to speak, swallow, mobility, and breathe. It is a horrible disease with no effective treatment. The cause is not known. Combat veterans have 200% prevalence compared to the general population. Please contribute and thank you for your consideration.”
