Thousand Oaks officially recognizes ALS Awareness Month

2024 AAM Thousand Oaks

This month, the City Of Thousand Oaks officially recognized May 2024 as ALS Awareness month during the 2024 SoCal Ride & Rally to Cure ALS in Newbury Park, CA. The event aimed to raise awareness about ALS and encourage residents to support the search for treatments and cures.

Mayor Pro Tem David Newman presented the proclamation to president and CEO Sheri Strahl of the ALS Network among many other attendees who came to show their support for this special event.

“After cycling in the annual SoCal Ride & Rally…It was my privilege…to raise awareness of ALS; support ALS families and caregivers; and shine a spotlight on those working on better treatments,” said Mayor Pro Tem Newman on a social media channel. “Kudos to the hundreds who turned out to hike and ride for this worthy cause.”

This event was organized by Dawn Foley, Co-Founder and Fundraising Committee Chair of the SoCal Ride & Rally to Cure ALS.
