On Saturday, October 21, ALS Golden West held the 24th Annual Monterey Bay Walk to Defeat ALS® at El Estero Park to raise ALS awareness and funds for those affected by ALS in the Monterey area.

The community event began with a special opening ceremony; followed by about a mile Walk around El Estero park; then a delicious lunch, and an opportunity drawing afterward.

The event included a resource fair accompanied by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, Numotion, Permobil, Amylx, Salinas Valley Health, and ALS Golden West. Team FSU4LOS, in honor of Carlos Gonzales, was this year’s highest fundraising team, raising over $8,000!

With the help of the passionate fundraisers, engaged supporters and generous donors, the Monterey Bay Walk to Defeat ALS brought together over 200 dedicated participants, sponsors, and volunteers who together have raised more than $36,000 towards our goal of $65,000! All proceeds provide critical funding for ALS Golden West’s urgent mission priorities related to ALS care services, public policy initiatives, and cutting-edge global research.

All of us at ALS Golden West are grateful for your continued support of our mission to find effective treatments and cures. To see the photos from the beautiful event day, click here.
