Soaps in Depth: Exclusive: Kate Linder on Using Her Mother’s Art for a Good Cause

Talent clearly runs in the family of The Young & The Restless star Kate Linder (Esther). Her late mother, Molly Wolveck, was an accomplished painter and her work is being displayed in a special reception at 9176 Gallery in West Hollywood on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 2-6 p.m. PT.

Funds raised by the art sales will benefit ALS Network, a cause close to the actress’ heart after her late brother-in-law, Scott Buzzell, was diagnosed with the disease. “Just as my brother-in-law was going through the process of being diagnosed with ALS, my husband Ron and I discussed it and I knew I had to get involved with them to work towards finding a cure,” Linder said. “I did some work for them and ended up becoming their celebrity spokesperson within six months and have been very involved with the cause ever since.
