Sleep in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis of polysomnographic findings
Highlights
- We investigate the polysomongraphic changes in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
- We found decreased sleep efficiency, total sleep time, and slow wave sleep, and increased wake time after sleep onset, sleep latency, and rapid eye movement sleep latency in ALS patients .
- Sensitivity analyses showed that some heterogeneity was explained by excluding patients taking medications impacting sleep, whether studies employed an adaptation night, and the use of different PSG scoring rules.
