ALS advocates demonstrate their strength and impact by sharing personal experiences with legislators and urging support for policies that enhance the quality of life for those affected by ALS. Another powerful way to raise your voice is at the ballot box!
The ALS Network encourages everyone in the ALS community to register to vote and explore accessible options, like voting online or by mail, to ensure your opinion counts.
Please see these helpful articles from Disability Rights California and the Honolulu Elections Division to learn more about the many different ways that people can vote.

“Ever since we were kids, our dad Bernie encouraged us to use our voices to express our opinions and help others. Later, when he lost his ability to speak due to ALS, he reminded us of that important life lesson by still using his vote as his voice.
Voting is a big part of being an ALS advocate. Every person in our ALS community should vote their preference and make their voices heard. Make a plan to register before the deadline and get your ballot in by election day, November 5, 2024. Please don’t sit this or any election out.
Since we lost our dad in 2003, we have continued to be ALS advocates, supporting the ALS Network’s mission through volunteering and participating in community outreach and ALS advocacy activities. The ALS Network gives voice to the ALS community by tirelessly advocating for effective treatments and ultimately for cures.”
