Giving Tuesday
YOU are the reason the ALS community receives help when they need it most.
By making a donation to ALS Golden West on Giving Tuesday, you are the reason more than 2,000 people with ALS and their loved ones in California and Hawaii have access to vital care services at no charge.
New and promising treatments for ALS are being discovered, and you are the reason. Your gifts help fuel our research initiatives, including early investment that has led to recent FDA approvals of Qalsody and Relyvrio. You are the reason critical legislation like the ALS/Neurodegenerative Disease Registry was recently signed into law.
This year, you can double the impact of your donation! Thanks to the Morris Family, in loving memory of husband and father Mark (Mickey) Morris, all donations to ALS Golden West on Giving Tuesday will be generously matched, up to $15,000. Your gift to ALS Golden West is tax-deductible, so please be generous this #GivingTuesday!
Thank you for your support! YOU are the reason we will end ALS.
As a supporter of ALS Golden West, please take a look at some of the many ways YOU can meaningfully participate to give help and hope to families facing ALS.
WAY TO GIVE #1 - Create a Fundraiser
You can turn your interests and passions into opportunities to raise funds and awareness to help end ALS. Pick any activity that’s right for you, and recruit family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and classmates to join you in making an impact.
Anytime, anywhere, you can host a fun and inspirational event or join an existing event in support of care, cures, and community. You can also create a tribute or memorial page to honor loved ones lost to this devastating disease.
WAY TO GIVE #2 - Raise Awareness and Funds Through Social Media
You can also help raise ALS awareness and the opportunity to make a difference by spreading the word of your support on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Encourage your friends and family to make a gift to Golden West and use the tag @alsagoldenwest and hashtags #GivingTuesday and #ourALScommunity in your posts!
We have also created this video to help you raise funds on social media. Every donor and every dollar will help make an impact and will increase awareness and support for our ALS community!
WAY TO GIVE #3 - Use your DAF or IRA!
ALS Golden West offers many ways to support the ALS community. These include a meaningful donation from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) or individual retirement account (IRA).
To support our mission priorities, simply contact your financial administrator and direct them to send funds to our Tax I.D. Number: 95-4163338.
WAY TO GIVE #4 - Show Your Support Through Community Outreach
ALS Golden West brings the ALS community together in various ways throughout the year to create help, hope, and heart for families impacted by ALS today, and for those who will be diagnosed in the future through our community outreach events.
Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity to find out if a company is interested in becoming a corporate sponsor in support of these celebratory and meaningful gatherings that provide community and raise awareness and funds to benefit our mission priorities. Please contact Asher Garfinkel, Vice President, Community Outreach at agarfinkel@alsagoldenwest.org or 818.865.8067 ext. 225
If you are a current participant in ALS Golden West's Walk and Ride to Defeat ALS events, you can raise funds for this year’s Giving Tuesday through your event participant center! You can also give directly through your participant page or to our Walk to Defeat ALS or Ride to Defeat ALS websites!
WAY TO GIVE #5 - Double Your Impact!
Would you like to amplify your efforts in the fight to end ALS and support the mission of ALS Golden West? You can increase the impact of your donation to Golden West with a matching gift. Thousands of companies match donations to our organization, and some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Visit our website to see if your company matches charitable contributions or volunteer hours.
