Our deepest gratitude to Hailey Winslow, Susan Hirasuna, and FOX 11 news for your thoughtful segment about the 24th annual Los Angeles Walk & Roll to Cure ALS.
We cannot say thank you enough to Hailey for joining us at Dignity Health Sports Park as this year’s emcee, even taking the #ALSIceBucketChallenge, on behalf of her colleague Elex Michaelson. Even though Elex was unable to attend in person, he still participated all of the way in Washington DC while at an event with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Nearly 1,000 participants had a chance to connect and share why they help raise ALS awareness and funds. Longtime supporters Hilary and Richard Kraft of Sticker Planet shared that they continue to walk each year in memory of their father Bernie, as a promise to help find a cure for ALS. Viewers also had a chance to hear from CBS’ The Young and The Restless Kate Linder, who serves as an ALS ambassador in memory of her brother-in-law’s ALS battle.
Attendees heard humorous and inspiring words from Erin Taylor, who was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 23, which were delivered in a speech using AI. President & CEO Sheri Strahl shared with viewers why it is important to support the mission priorities of the ALS Network
We thank everyone who came out in support of our ALS community! If you were unable to join us on Sunday, you can still make a gift at alswalklosangeles.org.
