2023 05 Average Life Expectancy
  • This event has passed.

Did you know that the average life expectancy for a person after an ALS diagnosis is two to five years? Further analysis shows that 50% of all people affected with ALS live at least three or more years after diagnosis. 20% of people living with ALS live five years or more, and as much as 10% will live more than ten years. There is some evidence that people with ALS are living longer, partially due to clinical management interventions. Throughout #ALSAwarenessMonth, @alsagoldenwest is sharing facts about ALS in support of #ourALScommunity.
