Dr. Mark Terrelonge, a UCSF Associate Professor of Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine, will speak at the event. He also serves as Associate Program Director of the UCSF Adult Neurology Residency Program, with a focus on expanding neurological care in underserved communities and promoting equity, wellness, and education in medical training.
During this informative discussion, Dr. Terrelonge will cover the following:
- Empowering caregivers of people living with ALS through education, peer connection, and self-reflection
- Providing practical strategies for self-care that are feasible and sustainable within the demands of caregiving
- Increasing awareness of local and national support resources available to ALS caregivers
- Normalizing the emotional experience of caregiving and reducing feelings of isolation or burnout
