- This event has passed.
Major League Baseball’s Lou Gehrig Day celebrates the legacy of Lou Gehrig and all those impacted by the disease that bears his name. This league-wide, annual event began in 2021 and honors New York Yankees’ first baseman, otherwise known as the Iron Horse, and helps raise awareness of ALS and support for the ALS community. On Lou Gehrig Day, each home Club will host ceremonies and display “4-ALS” logos in ballparks, commemorating Gehrig’s uniform number “4.” Additionally, all players, managers and coaches will wear a special “Lou Gehrig Day” patch on uniforms.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be observing Lou Gehrig Day on Friday, June 2 at 7:10 PM PDT during the game against the New York Yankees. For directions, parking, and more information about Dodger Stadium, please visit their website. Tickets are available for purchase on their website. You may also may be able to purchase tickets through other third party, ticket resale websites like Seat Geek and Stub Hub.
The Dodgers will also be hosting another ALS Awareness event later this season. We are still waiting for final information from the team.
