(LOS ANGELES, CA — September 24, 2025)The ALS Network, in partnership with Java City Coffee, is launching Coffee for Cures, a special campaign turning every bag of coffee into fuel for life-changing ALS support and research. Beginning Friday, September 19, each purchase will bring help and hope to the entire ALS community through the ALS Network’s personalized care, groundbreaking research, and crucial advocacy efforts.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a fatal, neurodegenerative illness that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. People with ALS lose the ability to move, speak, swallow, and, eventually, to breathe – all while their minds and senses continue to function. People who have served in any branch of the military are diagnosed with ALS nearly twice as often as the general population. Currently, there are no known cures for ALS and only a few modestly effective treatments.

“At the ALS Network, we believe in the power of community and partnerships to drive meaningful change,” said Mike Kallhoff, Chief Operating Officer at ALS Network. “Our collaboration with Java City Coffee through the Coffee for Cures campaign is more than just raising funds. Every cup brewed brings us one step closer to treatments and cures for ALS. Together, we’re not only raising vital funds for care, advocacy and research – we’re building a movement of awareness and support for every person impacted by this disease.”

Java City will donate all profits of the Coffee for Cures sales directly to the ALS Network to help advance the search for treatments and cures. Coffee for Cures supports the power of community, helping those impacted by this devastating disease. You can learn more about this partnership and purchase coffee by visiting coffeeforcures.org

“We’re honored to join forces with the ALS Network on this initiative. By bringing people together over coffee, we can raise both awareness and funding to support their incredible mission,” said Alex Vergara, Marketing Director at Java City. “Just as we partner directly with farmers to build stronger, more sustainable communities at origin, this partnership reminds us that when communities come together, everyday moments can make a lasting difference.”
