ALS Community Joins Together for ALS Awareness Month

In honor of May as ALS Awareness Month, the ALS community collaborated with various local government representatives in Hawaii and California to raise awareness.


ALS Awareness Month in Hawaii

On May 9, 2025, the ALS Network, ALS Foundation of Hawaii, ALS Ohana of Hawaii, and members of the ALS community met with Hawaii Governor Josh Green at the Honolulu State Building for a special proclamation signing ceremony. In attendance were ALS Network board members Caroline Landry and Aubrey Rupinta, Eric Beikmann, VP of Marketing and Communications of the ALS Network, and members of the ALS Network’s Hawaii staff including AnnMarie Ingham, Mac Negre, Josephine Poirier, and Eileen Liu.

After the proclamation reading, Governor Green shared more on his personal connection with ALS:


ALS Awareness Month in Thousand Oaks

This month, the City Of Thousand Oaks officially recognized ALS Awareness Month with a signed proclamation presented during the 2025 SoCal Ride & Rally to Cure ALS with the Mayor of Thousand Oaks, David Newman.
