Hi my fellow ALStogetherers,
First things first, a huge THANK YOU for being a part of this community. When my team and I thought of the concept of ALStogether, this is exactly what we hoped it would be- a trusted, global community 🙌🎉where we can ask questions, vent, troubleshoot, keep up with research, and of course, make dark jokes about our lottery winning ALS tickets.
As we’re reminded more than most, life can be unpredictable, and as my progression has continued, my team and I wanted to ensure the future of this community is anything but unpredictable. In short, if I croak 💀, I didn’t want ALStogether to croak with me (note that my team did not approve that particular phrasing, but such were the thoughts that kept me up at night).
With that, we went in search of a partner that would allow us the safety net of continuity, without changing the vibe of what you all have built here. After many interviews where I acted as an overprotective parent, we found a partner who will allow us to continue running as is, while providing us with additional resources to make this community even more powerful… drumroll please 🥁🥁🥁
ALStogether is officially becoming part of the ALS Network. This gives us the opportunity to enhance and strengthen what we’ve built. We’ll have more resources, more reach, and more ability to support people living with ALS and our loved ones. As most of you have seen, ALS Network recently merged with ALS ONE, so our community will have even more horsepower behind it to keep pushing toward our goal of being the headquarters of all things ALS.
The gist: Our mission stays the same. Our community stays the same. Our impact grows. I’ll continue to be part of this journey along with Chanel and Michael, and the heart 🫶 of ALStogether, YOU, isn’t going anywhere.
As always, we appreciate your thoughts 🙏 – whether it’s ideas on how you think ALStogether can better serve our community, or questions about this update, etc, please feel free to use the Submit Feedback workflow (linked in the ALStogether announcement thread) and my team and I will respond. We are so grateful for all of you and can’t wait to serve you better.
Love,
Brooke
