25th Annual Central Valley Burnout, Walk & Roll Makes an Impact
The ALS Network held the 25th annual Central Valley Burnout, Walk & Roll to Cure ALS® (formerly Walk to Defeat ALS) on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Clovis Rodeo Grounds, in Clovis. Members of the Central Valley community gathered for a family-friendly day of celebration, exercise, education, awareness, inspiration, music, and fun. This year, an added car show and burnout were held along with food trucks and local vendor booths, including live music from Good Vibes DJ and We Got The Beat percussion band.
Since its inception in 2000, the Central Valley Burnout, Walk & Roll to Cure ALS® has been a yearly opportunity for the ALS community to connect and fuel the search for effective treatments and cures for ALS.
“My wife was diagnosed in 2000 and passed away five years ago after 19 years of ALS,” said Steve Spring, who has been a part of this annual event for 25 years. “When she was diagnosed, that’s what she decided. That’s what she wanted to do– push to raise money to see if we could find some kind of cure. Hopefully, someday we won’t have to worry about this disease again.”
